Half Marathon Swim - 3 laps of the Burghley swim course. recognised as an open water swim half marathon, 5km is a stunning achievement. Our team will support you throughout your swim and do everything we can to help you complete this huge challenge.

Middle Distance - 2 laps of our open water swim course.

This is a fantastic way to experience the venue, the distance and the challenge. You'll see all the great locations and landmarks of the course from this unique perspective.

Sprint Distance - 1 lap of our open water swim course. It's a wonderful place to swim, open to the public for the very first time. You'll swim past the house, the gardens, beautiful parkland, unique buildings and centuries old landscapes.

Our beginner short course - A superb way to experience the venue in a beginner specific wave. Athletes will experience this wonderful venue and enjoy a turn point right in front of the main house and formal gardens.

Swim

Swim Safari

Full exclusive lake access, swim float hire, safety briefing, pre swim event guide, safety team supervision throughout your swim, all booking fees, free parking, changing tents, toilets and event facilities, swim leader assistance throughout your swim, drinks station in the secluded limits of the lake. 

Each 90 minute session includes 1 hour minimum swim time. 

Sessions are limited to 30 swimmers.

*Please contact Pacesetter Events for exclusive sessions/availability for clubs or swim groups. 

Relax and Explore - A guided swim around the Burghley lake for those who don't want the restrictions of course buoys. Our team will take you on a relaxed tour around the lake with a small group (up to 30) where you will have plenty of opportunity to stop, enjoy the views and enjoy a more relaxed pace. There's even a drinks station at the far end of the lake. The group will set the pace, we will show you the venue including parts off limits for our other events. Sessions are 90 minutes to include a minimum of 1 hour swim time.

Price: £28

Minimum age:  16 on event day

Pace: Set by the group with a fair amount of freedom for varied ability.

About the venue

Open to the public for the very first time. Our course is set in the heart of the Burghley estate with stunning views of Burghley House. We have privileged access to the lake, allowing athletes to swim here for the very fist time. The chance to swim in this location feels really special we really cannot wait to welcome people to experience and enjoy this awesome location.

Wetsuits

This is a wetsuit optional event.

We do strongly advise that anyone not acclimatised to cold water swimming wears a wetsuit in temperatures 16c and lower and strongly consider it up to 20c for anyone not acclimatised!

Wetsuits can be hired for this event from Tri Wetsuit Hire - please follow this link and book directly with them. 

Swim floats

Swim floats are optional for swimmers wearing a wetsuit. Non Wetsuit swimmers must use a tow float.

We have plenty available for all swimmers to loan whether you're swimming wetsuit or non wetsuit should you prefer to use one. You may use your own if you have one. 

Registration

All entries are processed on the website prior to the event. There will be no race day entries. 

Athlete registration/check-in will be located at the event village. 

 

Start times

All athletes will be split into waves depending on their chosen distance. A full detailed timetable will be confirmed 1 month prior to the event. 

Race briefing

All details will be posted on the website prior to the event. We will conduct a briefing 20 minutes prior to you starting the swim. Please make sure you have read the race guide prior to the event.

Results

Results will be available on the website immediately after the event. Results will be provisional for a week. Please let us know if there's any issues before the results become official one week after the event. 

Prizes

Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Male & Female in each event distance. 

Pre race procedures

Please read the athlete guide that will be emailed to you prior to the race. It will include all the final race information needed for a stress free event experience. Turn up having read and understood the instructions and you'll have a stress free event experience.. 

Rules

We use the British Triathlon Federation rulebook for this event. Please follow the link for full race rules. 

Parking

Parking fees are included in your entry fee. Please use the main visitor entrance. You must be on site in good time to avoid any road closures effecting the site.

Where is the start line?

The start line is near lion bridge in the Burghley estate

Please follow signs to the event village where you'll find everything you need.
