General info

Booking fees and extra costs

There aren't any! As athlete we find it annoying when booking fees are a huge hidden chunk added in the basket and everything is an extra, parking, merch and anything else. The fee you see is the fee you pay, it includes all your parking fees, card payments, taxes, finisher T-shirt  and everything you need to race. The only exception is a BTF licence if you're not a BTF member but that's standard across all triathlon events.

The Swim

A special experience not swim in the lake at Burghley House. Adjacent to the main event hub, transition and everything that you need at the event. The lake has been opened especially for us to enjoy.

The Bike

The bike course utilises the road network around Burghley House in the Peterborough countryside. Athletes will complete laps depending on the distance raced

The course is closed to all through traffic but we must allow access for residents and businesses trapped within the course (seems fair and reasonable). Although a closed road course athletes should ride within the Highway Code and be aware of cars accessing their property intermittently throughout the morning.

The Run

Through the fantastic Burghley estate. We've created a route full of interest. Athletes will run around the main parkland past Burghley House.

Transition and event site

Right in front of Burghley House in their impressive parkland. You'll struggle to find much more iconic locations to rack your bikes.

The event hub with food stands, registration and stall holders is adjacent to transition for your enjoyment and convenience.

Registration

All entries are processed on the website prior to the event. There will be no race day entries.

Athlete registration/check-in will be located at the event village. There will be two opportunities to register for the triathlon events. once on Saturday afternoon/evening and a short opportunity on Sunday morning before the race.

Start times

All athletes will be split into waves depending on their chosen distance. They will then be divided into age group wave starts.

We do have the option to select a beginner wave on the entry forms.

The beginner wave will come with a more detailed briefing including transition tour and an option for a gentler race start.

Waves will start between 6:30am and 8:00am

Race briefing

All details will be posted on the website prior to the event. We will conduct a briefing 30 minutes prior to you starting the swim. Please make sure you have read the race guide prior to the event.

Results

Results will be available on the website immediately after the event. Results will be provisional for a week. Please let us know if there are any issues before the results become official one week after the event.

Prizes

As a minimum trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Open & Female in each each event. Triathlon events will have age group awards for 5 or 10 year age groups depending on the size of the field.  Final event age groups will be published on the website 1 week prior to event day.

Pre race procedures

Please read the athlete guide that will be emailed to you prior to the race. It will include all the final race information needed for a stress free event experience. Turn up having read and understood the instructions and you'll have a stress free event experience..

Rules

We use the British Triathlon Federation rulebook for this event. Please follow the LINK for full race rules.

Parking

Parking fees are included in your entry fee. Please use the main visitor entrance. You must be on site in good time to avoid road closures effecting the site.

Where is the start line?

The start line is near Lion bridge in the Burghley estate.

Please follow signs to the event village where you'll find everything you need.

Can you change distances?

Yes, as long as there is availability in your new chosen distance. Please use the online entry system to edit your entry.

Refunds and deferrals

We offer a generous refund and deferral scheme as well as the opportunity to purchase insurance via refund protect. The terms are clear from the point of entry and unfortunately exceptions cannot be made due to increasing investment in your entry as we approach event day.
